Joseph Guaracino, the president and CEO of Visit Philadelphia, died on Tuesday night following a lengthy battle with cancer, according to a Visit Philadelphia representative.
Since October of 2018, Guaracino has served as the president and CEO of Visit Philadelphia. Guaracino also served as Visit Philadelphia’s vice president of communications from 2001 until 2012.

Guaracino died quietly in his Philadelphia home, according to a Facebook message from his family on Wednesday morning.
“We notify you with sorrowful hearts that we have lost a dear family member, spouse, and truly devoted friend,” family members wrote.
“Jeff was an inspirational leader, a passionate traveler, an accomplished novelist and writer, a teacher, learner, mentor, and role model.”
