What Is Britain Best Woodworker Show About?
Britain Best Woodworker is the new show on the new Channel 4, where the contestants compete for their skills in woodwork and architecture.
They’ll have to persuade the judges, including award-winning architect Alex de Rijke, who believes the initiative will inspire people to “create rather than purchase,” and furniture maker Helen Welch, who has worked in the industry for 36 years.
Every week, the woodworkers compete against one another in a new series of challenges. As of now, two contestants are already eliminated, i.e., Tim and Chantal.
The builders’ first project was to create a double bed at least 2 meters high and ‘beautifully crafted,’ demonstrating a thorough understanding of joinery and effective use of wood.
In the third show next week, the seven remaining woodworkers will face the most demanding massive construction of the competition thus far and one of the most challenging products to create, a chair (4 November).
They must build a classic chair in just two days what a professional would take weeks to create. Stay tuned to make sure your favorite contestant does not get eliminated in the coming episode.
