So, have you ever wondered how rich Jackie Mason is, as of early 2017? Another source is coming from the sale of his books.

Jackie Mason Net Worth $9 Million

Jackie Mason was raised with five siblings in a strictly Orthodox Jewish family by his father, Eli, who was a rabbi, as well as his grandfather, and great-grandfather, who had imigrated to Sheboygan from Minsk, Ukraine during the 1920s. When he was five years old, the family relocated to the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York City, where he received a yeshiva education, and spoke Yiddish with his family and friends. He attended the City College of New York, from which he graduated with a BA degree in 1953, majoring in English and Sociology. Right after college, he gained semikhah and was ordained a rabbi in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. However, when his father passed away in 1959, he resigned his job in order to pursue a career as a stand-up comedian.

Mason’s career actually began in the summer of 1955, when he started working as a stand-up comedian at the Fieldston Hotel in Swan Lake, New York; however, he was soon fired, as the audience didn’t understand his sense of humor. After that, he began performing at local night clubs, and in 1962 he made his debut TV appearance in “The Steve Allen Show”, which marked the beginning of an increase of his net worth. Other shows in which he appeared included “The Dean Martin Show” and “The Perry Como Show” among many others. During the 1960s, he also made guest-appearances in “The Ed Sullivan Show” on the CBS network, which increased immensely his popularity. While in an episode of the show, he gave Sullivan the finger on air, which took him over a decade to revive his career.

In 1969, Mason co-wrote the play “A Teaspoon Every Four Hours” with Mike Mortman, in which he made his Broadway theater debut in the role of Nat Weiss. His next success came with his starring in the 1979 film “The Jerk”, directed by Carl Reiner, which was followed by an appearance in the 1981 film “History Of The World, Part I”. In 1986, he returned to Broadway, appearing in his debut one-man theatrical show “The World According To Me”, which he performed more than 360 times, adding a considerable amount to his net worth. Thanks to the show, Mason won a number of awards, including Emmy, a Special Tony, an Ace, an Outer Critics Circle Award, and a nomination for a Grammy Award. His next show entitled “Jackie Mason On Broadway” won an Ace Award and an Emmy Award as well. Simultaneously, he landed the role of Jack Hartounian in the film “Caddyshack II” (1988).

In the next decade, Mason created the two-act show “Brand New”, for which he once again won an Outer Critics Circle Award. In 1991, he was chosen to provide his voice to the character Rabbi Hyman Krustofski in the animated TV series “The Simpsons”, which lasted until 2016, increasing his net worth by a large margin, a role which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance. He also created such shows as “Politically Incorrect” (1994-1995), “Love Thy Neighbor” (1996–97), etc.

To speak further about his career, he appeared in “Prune Danish” (2002), which was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event, “Jackie Mason: Freshly Squeezed” (2005), which also earned him a nomination for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance), and “The Ultimate Jew” (2008), among others. His net worth was certainly rising.

Beside that, Mason has also published several books, including “Jackie Mason’s America” (1983), “Jackie, Oy!: The Frank, Outrageously Funny Autobiography Of Jackie Mason” (1988), and “How To Talk Jewish” (1991) alongside Ira Berkow, all of which increased his wealth.
Speaking about his personal life, Jackie Mason has been married to Jyll Rosenfeld, who worked as his manager, since 1991. He has a daughter with writer Ginger Reiter, Sheba Mason, who is also known as a comedian,.

Quote
1 A schmuck like Bernie Sanders pops out who doesn’t even know what’s going on and doesn’t care. Because to him Israel getting wiped out is no problem. Climate change is the only problem. To him, the most important thing in the world is climate change. If Israel gave up their country but they fought for climate change, he would love Israel. In ten minutes, they would be his favorite country.
2 Predictions are preposterous.
3 I’ve been watching politics for 35 or 40 years and you just never know. You can have one person win the Iowa caucus and then the whole picture changes ten minutes later. The same thing can happen again after New Hampshire. I have no idea what’s going to happen with our country in the future.
4 I can’t pretend that I’m a great student of the art of comedy because anybody that becomes philosophical about humor doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
5 It is more profitable for your congressman to support the tobacco industry than your life.
6 My material is as new as anything on the dinner table. What difference does it make if I’m 70 or if I’m 20? The audience knows they aren’t getting any old stories from me.
7 I can’t predict the future and I don’t have respect for people who try to.
8 I have nothing but love in my heart and everything I say is just an instrument for laughs.
9 My comedy doesn’t come from any calculations and studies.
10 Eighty percent of married men cheat in America. The rest cheat in Europe.
11 Did you ever hear of a kid playing accountant – even if they wanted to be one?
12 I don’t believe that anybody has come to a conclusion on why something is funny. It’s funny because it’s ridiculous and it’s ridiculous for different reasons at different times.
13 If an Englishman gets run down by a truck he apologizes to the truck.
14 It’s no longer a question of staying healthy. It’s a question of finding a sickness you like.
15 I have enough money to last me the rest of my life unless I buy something.

7 Grew up surrounded by rabbis, which include three of his brothers. He himself was a cantor until age 25 when he too was ordained a rabbi. He left the synagogue after three years however; later quipping, “Someone in the family had to make a living.”.
8 Traveled to London in 1991 for a Royal Variety performance for Queen Elizabeth II. Earlier in 1989 he did a command performance before the Queen Mum.
