He considers all acts of terrorism prohibited in the Quran and has attacked ISIL as a revolutionary organization that does not represent the faith; after the jihadi terrorist incident in London in June 2017, he branded the branch as a “disease” on the religion.
He has also been critical of the treatment of women in Islamic nations, has advocated for women to be appointed to the Australian National Imams Council, and has opposed the wearing of hijab in public.
Tawhidi also opposes Muslims who use domestic violence, polygamy, and the execution of apostates to excuse their actions.

Tawhidi self-identifies as a Shia Muslim of Iraqi descent born in 1982 or 1983 in Qom, Iran.
He enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Islamic studies at Al-Mustafa University in Qom in 2009 but dropped out in 2012.

He eventually worked for one of Karbala’s Shirazi-run television channels. Mohammad returned to Australia in 2015 and is now settled in Adelaide. He speaks Arabic, English, and Persian fluently.

He supports limiting the construction of mosques has advocated for the prohibition of Islamic texts, particularly the Sahih al-Bukhari.

Tawhidi said that after making these remarks, he was “escorted into hiding by the police” for fear of retaliation from the Muslim community. A police official, meanwhile, told The Australian that “there have been no arrests.”
