Rotering has revealed that she knew the shooter since his father was running against her for mayor a few years back, and the shooter was a part of her Cub Scout.

According to Nancy Rotering’s Wikipedia Bio, Nancy’s full name is Nancy Rodkin Rotering, and she graduated from the University of Chicago Law School before becoming the Mayor of Highland Park, Illinois.

Rotering completed her undergraduate study at Stanford University and later earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Northwestern University.

Before attending law school, she worked at the Mayo Clinic as an Administrative Resident and General Motors as the Benefits Analyst.

She has also worked as an attorney at McDermott Will & Emery before getting into politics.

Nancy became the Mayor of Highland Park in May of 2011 after working for two years as a Councilwoman in the City of Highland Park.

While working as a mayor, she also provides lectures to undergraduates on Social policy courses: Women and American Political Leadership at Northwestern University.

Her husband has worked at the Midwest Originations Northlight Financial investment fund company since 2004. Rob also got his MBA in finance from Northwestern University in 1985.
