A federal judge has determined that McMichael will serve his sentence in a state jail rather than a federal one, satisfying the family of Ahmaud Arbery’s request.
They were given a life sentence without the chance of release. Travis McMichael, who killed Ahmaud Arbery and is already serving a life sentence for the act, was given a new life term plus ten years on Monday due to federal hate crime allegations.
In November, the father and son were found guilty of state murder in connection with the killing of Arbery and their neighbor William “Roddie” Bryan.
Gregory McMichael Wife Leigh McMichael: Where Is She Now?
McMichael and his wife Leigh had two children together: son Travis, who was also given a life sentence for the murder of Arbery, and daughter Lindsey McMichael.
She was a nurse who had previously worked at a hospice.
She sobbed when she testified in the trial on her son’s and her husband’s behalf. Laura Hogue, an attorney, comforts McMichael’s wife and children following the verdict. Hogue is comforting Leigh and her kid, who are both distraught by the judgment.
She is currently fighting the case because her husband committed murder, and it appears he won’t be getting out of jail anytime soon.
Gregory McMichael Daughter Lindsay McMichael & Family
Lindsay McMichael, the daughter of suspects Gregory and Leigh McMichael, admitted to sharing a Snapchat shot of Ahmaud Arbery’s dead body.
She is thought to be around 25 years old. Her exact age and birthdate are not currently known to the general public. Her personal life has been kept quiet.
As a result of the backlash on the Snapchat photo she posted, she even canceled her Facebook page. However, while her father Gregory played the video depicting the Arbery shooting, attorney Alan Tucker claimed that he and his son produced the remaining films independently.

Gregory McMichael Prison Sentence & Charges For Ahmaud Arbery Murder
Travis McMichael and his father, Gregory McMichael, are requesting dismissal of their federal hate crimes convictions in relation to Ahmaud Arbery’s slaying, alleging the 25-year-old Black man’s killing didn’t take place on a public street.
The McMichaels filed separate applications for verdicts of acquittal on each of the federal charges, including the hate crime allegation of interference with rights and attempted kidnapping, for which they were found guilty last month.
They claim that the prosecution did not provide sufficient proof to justify the convictions.
Arbery was shot dead when the McMichaels, who had seen him racing past their house outside of Brunswick, grabbed their firearms and jumped in a truck to pursue him.
Bryan joined the pursuit in his truck and assisted in stopping Arbery’s attempt to flee. He was captured on camera as Arbery wrestled with Travis McMichael, who shot Arbery at close range.
In the federal trial, which lasted a week, the prosecution presented evidence that demonstrated that the men killed Arbery out of racial animus. This evidence included their continuous use of racial slurs and racist depiction of Black persons accused of committing crimes.
The McMichaels and Bryan, according to defense attorneys, followed Arbery not because of his color but because of a sincere but false suspicion that Arbery had committed crimes in their community.
In response, the prosecution said it had established that if Mr. Arbery had not been an African American, the chase that resulted in his death “would not have occurred.”
