As for Azeem, Rafiq’s bio is a professional cricketer for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in England.
Rafiq, a right-arm off-spin bowler, represented the county from 2008 to 2014 and again from 2016 to 2018, earning his senior debut at 17.
He captained England’s under-15 and under-19 teams, and in 2012, he became the youngest man to captain a Yorkshire side and the first Asian to do so.
Every time I hear someone like Azeem Rafiq speak out about racism in their workplace, I think about the silence of their colleagues. It doesn’t matter if that silence is due to enjoyment of the racism, to ignorance, fear or cowardice – to a racist, silence is a standing ovation. https://t.co/IVkw2voeLj
