Dominic Taddeo is a New York mobster who was held in a medium-security prison in Florida until February when he was relocated to a residential halfway house in the same state.
Taddeo pleaded guilty and was convicted of racketeering charges in 1992, which included the 1980s mob war killings of three men.
Nicholas Mastrodonato, Gerald Pelusio, and Dino Tortatice were killed by Taddeo in 1982 and 1983.
Following his crime, he was sentenced to 54-years by the late U.S. Judge Michael Telesca.
Despite his contention that health conditions like hypertension and obesity put him in danger of serious COVID-19 complications, Taddeo’s compassionate release request was refused by a federal judge in western New York last year.
Prosecutors said that Taddeo’s medical documents did not indicate that he was in poor health.
He had only a year till he was set to be released from prison.
