David Sinopoli Arrested For Murder Of Lindy Sue Biechler

68-year-old David Sinopoli was detained early on Sunday and charged with killing Lindy Sue Biechler, 19, in her own home in 1975, who was stabbed to death.

Per Oxygen, between 6:45 and 7:05 p.m., Biechler was attacked at her home with 19 stab wounds. She had just come home from the grocery store.

When the victim’s aunt and uncle located Biechler and phoned the police at around 8:46 p.m., the grocery bags were still sitting on the dining room table.

Likewise, investigators had followed up on clues for years, but Sinopoli wasn’t a suspect until they ran advanced DNA and family history searches. According to autopsy results, Biechler had 19 stab wounds in her neck, chest, and back from self-defense.

Although DNA testing would not be used in the U.S. court system for at least another ten years, there were clear signs of a struggle, and DNA evidence was gathered.
