David attended AB Lucas Secondary School, and after matriculating, went to the University of Western Ontario. After graduating, he then attended the University of Toronto to study law. He achieved his JD in 1982, and then worked as a corporate lawyer as well as a municipal lawyer. Afterwards, he moved to Los Angeles to try his hand at a career in television, effectively ending his law career.

One of Shore’s first projects was “Due South” which is about a Canadian who goes to the US. He then moved to other projects such as “Century City”, which did not find success. In 2003, he decided to work on another police procedural style project, which now focused on medicine – taking inspiration from Sherlock Holmes, he created “House, MD” whose titular character was played by comedian Hugh Laurie. Quote
1 [on writing ‘House.M.D.’] The challenge was always, either the patient gets better or the patient dies. We did try to break up the formula now and then, but fundamentally I was comfortable with it. We departed from it on occasion, and those departures worked. The real challenge though was that I didn’t want people going, ‘I wonder if he will get better’. Rather, I wanted them to think, ‘What’s House going to do, and how is everybody going to react to that’. The stories were about him figuring out the challenge, discovering what the obstacles were and then finding a way to overcome those obstacles. The fun part for me, for us as writers, was to make that aspect of it a surprise, week in and week out.
2 [on ‘House’] It’s always sad, in some ways, when something ends. Whatever this turns out to be – eight years, nine years, ten years – it’s been a tremendous experience. It’s been way more than I could have possibly imagined. It’s been unbelievable. I was extremely lucky, as a writer, to be able to explore this character for one year, never mind eight.

Stuart Sternberg is the principal shareholder of the ownership group that owns the Tampa Bay Rays and has been the team’s Managing General Partner since November 2005. Stuart Sternberg was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1959. Sternberg’s passion for baseball developed as a child while playing the game in the streets and playgrounds of his neighborhood. One of Sternberg’s most cherished memories is of watching Sandy Koufax pitch while attending his first Major League game, with his father, at Shea Stadium in 1965. In 1978, Sternberg began his professional career trading equity options part-time at the American Stock Exchange while attending St. John’s University, where he earned a degree in finance. After college, Sternberg was hired by investment group Spear, Leeds & Kellogg, eventually becoming a partner in the firm before moving to Goldman Sachs, retiring from that company as a partner in 2002. Sternberg purchased a 48% plurality-share in the previously named Devil Rays (now known as the Tampa Bay Rays) in May 2004 and took over as Managing General Partner in October 2005. He arranged his bid for controlling interest in the team with fellow Goldman Sachs partner Matthew Silverman, whom he hired as the team’s President. He has remained a low key owner, who currently sees his primary goal with the team as getting their finances in order.
