David McCartney, a retired accountant, and businessman have been missing since 18 October. He failed to return after a hike in the Yorkshire Dales near his house in Cross Hills.
The 74-year-old retired accountant and businessman have been missing since leaving his Cross Hills home on Monday, claiming he was going for a walk in the Skipton area.
He drove into Craven in a black Volvo V60, telling his family he would be gone for up to five hours.
Mr. McCartney is said to have started his walk at 9 a.m. on Monday, but he did not come home at that time.
Since then, police have discovered his car in Kettlewell, and significant searches in the Craven region have been conducted.
“Low cloud prevented searching by helicopter, and searchers on foot were subjected to thick drizzle and very gusty rain showers,” a representative for Cave Rescue Organisation said.
