David Guetta Wiki Biography

Pierre David Guetta was born on 7 November 1967 in Paris, France of Belgian, Moroccan and Jewish descent. He is one of the most successful producers to this day, though he firstly became known as a DJ in some of the world’s best nightclubs.

So how rich is David Guetta? Sources estimate his current net worth has reached an impressive amount of $45 million, most of his wealth having been accumulated from his work in the music industry.

David Guetta Net Worth $45 Million

David Guetta’s career started when he was 17 years old when he began working as a professional DJ in Paris. In 2001 he started working as a producer as well when he co-founded a production company called “Gum Productions” with Joachim Garraud. As a producer he worked with many famous music artists such as Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Usher, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Kylie Minogue. In 2002 Guetta released his first album with the same title “A Little More Love” as his most successful single of that time period. During his musical career Guetta released five more studio albums: “Guetta Blaster” (in 2004), “Pop Life” (in 2007), “One Love” (in 2009), “Nothing but the Beat” (in 2011) which was re-released a year ago under the title “Nothing but the Beat 2.0”, and “Listen” (in 2014). All of these albums were successful worldwide and have greatly contributed in building up his net worth. He has been incredibly successful, and the overall number of singles he has sold so far is 30 million as well as the number of albums he has sold which is nine million is clear proof of his success.

Guetta’s road to success has been depicted in a 2011 feature-length documentary “Nothing but the Beat” which revealed what the famous DJ’s life looks like and it also featured a lot of famous artists such as Snoop Dogg, Will.i.am, Ludacris, Avicii, Fatboy Slim and others. Another indication of Guetta’s success is the number of important awards and nominations he has acquired over the years. He has won two Grammy Awards in the category of “Best Remixed Recording, Non-classical”, four World Music Awards: as a “World’s Best DJ”, “World’s Best Selling French Artist” and “Best Producer” (in 2010) and as a “World’s Best Selling DJ” (in 2012). He has also won a Billboard Music Award in the category of “Top EDM Artist”, MTV Europe Music Award in “Best Electronic” (in 2012) and a “Teen Choice Award” in “Choice EDM Artist” (in 2012). He has also been nominated for several Brit Awards, two Aria Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, two ECHO Awards and a number of Billboard Music Awards for his work both as a producer and as an Electronic Dance Music artist.

In his personal life, David Guetta had been married to the nightclub owner and manager Cathy Lobe for 22 years (since 1992). The two of them have raised two children: Tim Elvis Eric (born in 2004) and Angie (born in 2007). Unfortunately, the couple decided to divorce in 2014, though because of their big financial success the divorce is rather complicated and hasn’t happened yet.

Quote
1 I am trying to walk a tightrope; trying to keep the DJ community happy while trying to spread the message about dance music to more people. That is the mission that I am on.
2 I don’t do this for the money, I don’t do it for record sales, I don’t really care about that, I just want to make beats.
3 If I had to play only for people who liked the music because they heard it on the radio, it wouldn’t make me happy. That’s why I’m working so hard to have, yes, a profile as an artist, but also a profile as a DJ.
4 My studio is a laptop. Everybody I work with is the same. We make computer music, we’re the laptop generation.
5 Everything I make as a producer, I visualize it as a DJ first. And all those beats, I test them as a DJ.
6 My parents were extreme left so everything was against the system. I was walking barefoot in the streets of Paris when I was eight. When I started to DJ they hated it, because for them, nightclubs, and all of this life, was terrible and fake.
7 I had the most reversed education possible. Every parent wants their son to be a businessman, respectable – me, it was the opposite. When I had an artist career my mum was like, ‘Oh finally, I’m proud of you!’
8 I want to party in space because I make alien music.
9 I’m not the type of person to live in fear. I think positively.
10 All the big artists I talk to say that they are trapped in a formula and they are looking for the music of tomorrow.
11 Everything I do comes from the clubs. If I lose that, I’m done.
12 I can make everything I do come from my laptop. Even when I go to a big studio, all I do is to plug in my laptops. That’s they way I do it.
13 I headline concert halls for 20,000 people, but I still play smaller venues.
14 I mix up all styles on my albums because that is what music is about now.
15 I wanna be a nice guy.
16 I’m not limited.
17 I’ve created a bridge between European electronic culture and urban American culture, and I’ve worked with established brands.
18 If you put a demo on the net and people say it was the finished version then they’re going to say it sucks. I really hate that.
19 It’s nice because success has allowed me to have a blast on stage, to be in the studio with amazing people, but I find it all a bit bizarre.
20 Kids listen to everything on the Internet.
21 Our job as producers is to make the music sound as good as possible.
22 Sometimes two artists wanna work together, but it doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen, because you have to find the right idea.
23 The more melodies and chord changes, the less good it is for the clubs, but the better it is for radio, because it makes it really emotional.
24 There’s many different genres, and when you see R&B and pop and house, as well as electronic, come together, that’s the reality of what music is.
25 Traveling all around the world, music sounds different.
26 When you’re too relaxed it’s not good to create.
27 You know, kids come to see me in the same way that their parents would go to see a rock concert.
28 Actually, because of new technologies, my full studio is on my laptop. And I have a little keyboard in my bag. I can make everything I do come from my laptop. Even when I go to a big studio, all I do is to plug in my laptops. That’s they way I do it.
29 I have studios in the different places where I live – in Ibiza, Paris and London – but they’re not crazy studios, they’re just rooms with good monitors, and all I do is plug my laptop in. It’s a different way to make music, but for me, I love it, because it’s more connected to the world.
30 I’m totally not a nostalgic person. I always look to the future and as much as I’ve enjoyed the ride until now and the different phases, I’m more excited about the next music.
31 So dance music is now pop music. So now, as a dance producer, what do I have to do? So I’m starting to do alien music, because pop is not pop anymore; we need to go alien to be independent.
