Who is Dave Lombardo’s wife? Meet Paula Lombardo

In the symphony of metal music, Dave Lombardo’s name reverberates through the ages. Renowned for his thunderous drumming with bands like Slayer, Testament, Suicidal Tendencies, Mr. Bungle, and the Misfits, Lombardo has now taken a mellower yet equally powerful turn, joining forces with his wife, Paula Lombardo, in their musical venture, Venamoris.

The Lombardo duo is set to release their new album, “Drown In Emotion,” on February 10, an eagerly anticipated collaboration that promises to be a sonic journey into the depths of emotion. The first single and video from the album, “Let Me Be,” are already making waves, featuring a special guest appearance by Tyler Bates.

The inception of Venamoris in 2021 is described by Dave Lombardo as a result of “astral influence.” The husband and wife duo, bound by love and a shared passion for music, embarked on this creative journey together. Dave, handling drums and production on the record, shared the genesis of the project: “Several months after meeting Paula in 2010, she hesitantly shared with me her past decade-long career as the lead backup singer for Wayne Newton. She later played me some of the demos she recorded throughout the years, and I was floored by her sonically soothing, rich tone and natural, instinctive ability to harmonize. I was determined to persuade her to return to her creative self. It’s been a deeply gratifying journey witnessing this music come to life.”

Paula Lombardo, a Canadian-born singer/songwriter, takes the reins of vocals and piano for Venamoris. Her performances encapsulate vulnerability and intimacy, addressing a spectrum of emotions from anger and pain to healing and hope. The foundation of Venamoris is rooted in love, passion, communication, respect, and trust. It’s a musical journey that began with one person encouraging the other, reigniting the flame of creativity that had dimmed.

“Drown In Emotion” was meticulously crafted and produced at Ritmo Studio by Dave Lombardo, with drum overdubs recorded at Studio 606. The mixing was done by David A. Lombardo, and the mastering was entrusted to John Golden at Golden Mastering. The album boasts an impressive lineup of guest appearances, including Tyler Bates (Jerry Cantrell, Manson), Ra Diaz (Korn, Suicidal Tendencies), Jack Gibson (Exodus), George Pajon (Black Eyed Peas, Cairo Knife Fight), and Tim Stewart (Lady GaGa, Damnage).
