In February of last year, prosecutors charged Jennifer with obstructing justice. In September 2021, they had added a charge that could have resulted in a death sentence.
Prosecutors agreed to drop the impeachable offense and recommend a life sentence in exchange for her plea. The judge will ultimately decide on the sentence.
The plea papers stated that Jennifer admitted that her boyfriend Darrin shot her husband multiple times. Mr. Lopez has been accused of murder by the state and a gun crime by the feds.
On the other hand, Darrin has pled not guilty and, like all alleged perpetrators, is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
