At about 8:45 a.m., emergency services were dispatched to Waverly Street North in Oshawa’s McLaughlin neighborhood, responding to reports of a man being partially pushed into a wood chipper.
Vanheyst studied Forestry and Arboriculture at Sir Sanford Fleming College, according to his Facebook page. According to his bio, he has worked at Eco Tree Care since August of 2020.
His parents are Andrew Vanheyst and Jeanine, who are devastated following the death of their first child. He used to live with his father and mother in Verona before he died in a workplace accident.
His relatives and people who knew of him are mourning his loss on social media. They are also sending prayers to his family as they lost their child at such a young age.
