They charged US$2.8 million to a major state-owned enterprise for property management services it never provided. The services were part of a purposely made proposal from Trillian to have Transnet, South Africa’s state-owned transportation business, transfer some of its properties to private administration.
Despite several risks and warnings, Transnet began paying out millions of dollars before the plan was approved. But, it was all plans to extract fortune from state institutions by Trillian and Regiments Capital.
Both used political ties to make unsolicited, often covert, bids to provide dubious services to the government. And after some time, their conspiracy was discovered, and the people involved in the scheme are currently facing money laundering and fraud charges.
