Who Is Dandrae Martin From Sacramento Mass Shooting? First Suspect Under Custody

Dandrae Martin is the first suspect, arrested in a mass shooting that occurred early Sunday morning on K Street in downtown Sacramento. According to authorities, Martin was detained on assault and unlawful firearm possession charges.

The incident happened early Sunday morning, soon after the last call, in the bustling downtown district of the state’s capital city. According to investigators, numerous gunmen opened fire in the aftermath of a major altercation.

However, according to LA Times, Sacramento District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert released a statement Monday afternoon. She stated that she expected further arrests in the investigation.

“The inquiry is quite complicated, including several witnesses, various types of films, and extensive physical evidence,” Schubert noted.

During the preliminary investigation, detectives discovered at least three structures and three cars that had been hit by gunfire, according to police. Over 100 bullet casings were discovered by investigators.

Authorities have named the six victims murdered in a hail of gunfire outside a stretch of prominent downtown nightclubs early Sunday.

According to reports, Martin, also known as Dandrae Stephan Martin has a lengthy arrest record in court documents.

According to court records, he was convicted of misdemeanor domestic abuse against a spouse or partner in Riverside County in 2014. He was sentenced to 30 days in prison for that complaint.

Similarly, he was also convicted of attempting to commit aggravated assault in Maricopa County two years later and served time in an Arizona jail.

Sacramento Shooter Dandrae Martin Arrested Under Charges Of Assault & Deadly Weapon

Sacramento Shooter Dandrae Martin was arrested and charged with assault and possession of a deadly weapon. He is being held without bond on two felony charges.

One is assault with a dangerous weapon or firearm on another’s person, and another is being a felon in possession of a loaded handgun.

According to detention records, a court appearance is scheduled for April 5, 2022, at 3 p.m. in Sacramento County Superior Court Department 62.

The massacre occurred on and near the city’s K Street Mall, just across from the state Capitol’s majestic white dome.

Lawmakers there have established the nation’s strongest gun-control measures in recent years. But they are perplexed as to how to prevent such mass shootings.

In this year alone, Sacramento is affected by two of the country’s four biggest outbreaks of gun violence. One of them is a February event in which a father killed his three children, a guy overseeing their family visit, and himself.

According to La Times, the incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday when A vehicle drove along 10th Street in downtown Sacramento. Someone inside the vehicle opened fire on a gathering.

And it is reported that at least one other individual fired a gun. However, it is unclear whether that person was in the car or among the throng firing back at the shooter’s vehicle.

Rapid firing heard in web videos suggests a semiautomatic rifle was used. But a police official declined to comment on the weapon used, citing the ongoing investigation.

More suspects are assumed to get arrested following the investigation.
