Few stories are more compelling than tales of a meteoric rise to fame, followed by a crushing fall from grace. In the case of WeWork, this is a story you don’t want to miss.

It is a story about success, but it is also about greed, failure, and love in all its ugliness. WeWork CEO Adam Neumann, who once had a valuation of $US47 billion, didn’t so much hit rock bottom as he decided to flee the country.

The miniseries, set in New York, spans roughly a decade. The couple meets at a party Adam throws to raise funds for his and his pushy business partner Miguel McKelvey’s (Kyle Marvin) first iteration of WeWork.

WeWork Company Downfall Explained

WeWork, a co-working space startup that was once valued at $ 47 billion, is now struggling to stay afloat. It’s failing, and it’s failing quickly.

WeWork is a co-working real estate company founded in 2010 by Adam Neumann and Miguel McKelvey. Its headquarters are in New York. Its office spaces are currently located in 86 cities across 32 countries.

WeWork’s main issue is its low occupancy rate and low average revenue per member. According to statistics, WeWork’s occupancy rate dropped to 80% in 2019. In addition, the average revenue per member has dropped to $6,360 per year.

WeWork lost $ 2 billion in just one year. Some of the factors that contributed to its loss included aggressive expansion, a lower occupancy rate, charging basic rates for its deluxe properties, high lease costs, and high operating or variable costs.
