He came out and admitted his gender in public in September 2021 and has been somewhat successful in being the voice of other gay athletes.

However, the recent refusal of some of the Tampa Bay baseball players to support the ongoing celebration of pride month on the field has become another obstacle for the Volcanoes infielder.

Baseballer Bryan Ruby Publicly Came Out Gay Despite His Coache’s Denial

Bryan Ruby has boldly shared his coming-out story as a gay baseball player in 2021.

It was not easy for him to come out as speaking to Outsports since his most trusted “advisor” had said he would face trouble if he did. Including that, he was also worried that going public would wholeheartedly destroy his professional baseball career chances.

On the other hand, the coach did not have any issues with Bryan being gay in private, and he even recommended showing a girlfriend just in name.

In spite of all the warnings, the infielder Bryan revealed his identity and even started Proud To Be In Baseball, an LGBTQ+ support group for fellow athletes.

Since then, he has been offered by many teams to play for them, the opposite of the advice that he was given.
