Broward School’s attorney Barbara Myrick was arrested on Wednesday on the charge of unlawfully disclosing statewide grand jury proceedings, a felony punishable by a maximum of five years in prison.
Barbara illegally leaked the information of the school massacre in Parkland in 2018. A teenage gunman shot 17 staff and students of the school and injured 17 others at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School with a semi-automatic rifle. The case was still under investigation.

During her five years tenure, she has been fiercely protecting the information from getting out in public. She even got some reporters arrested in one high-profile case for publishing information her own office accidentally released.
She is now accused of doing the opposite. The lawyer was arrested for perjury in official proceedings on April 22, 2021, along with Boward County’s school superintendent Robert Runcie.
