Defence Minister Peter Dutton said in a statement, “There are movements on the day, on the road every day, and it is a very dangerous task that our troops are involved in, even during a training exercise and the movement of equipment up and down our national highways.”
In spite of all efforts of paramedic teams and medical teams, both of the soldiers could not fight hard and gave up their last breath on August 31st, 2021.

Brendon’s aunt was heartbroken when she found out the news about the death of his nephew. She wrote on Facebook about her nephew.
Ms. Payne said, “He was one in a million and a treasured nephew”. She further wrote, “Words cannot express the heartache my family and my brother and his family losing his 1st born”.
