Bobby Morris, a basketball coach has been found dead following the allegations made on social media targetting him.
Following social media sexual misconduct charges, a coach and instructor at City View ISD passed away. Shortly after 7 o’clock on Monday, Burkburnett Police received complaints of a gunshot on Jan Lee Drive and discovered Bobby Morris dead in his house. A small group of people gathered in the area while crime scene tape was applied.
Morris was honored on Thursday at a ceremony organized by KFDX-TV as Texoma’s Nexstar Small School Coach of the Year. Following the congrats, messages from women accusing Morris of unwanted sexual conduct on Facebook started to surface.
What Were The Allegations Made Against City View Coach Bobby Morris?
There were several allegations that were made against coach Bobby Morris soon after he was pronounced coach of the year. The allegations surfaced on Facebook and did not take long to get everyone’s attention.
In response to an inquiry from a City View administrator, one commenter stated she learned that parents had long complained about Morris. According to her, nothing was done. Similar claims were made by other commenters.
However, nothing had been done regarding Bobby’s misconduct. Everyone was quick to brush aside the problems at the time but as soon as they surfaced online, they received a lot of attention from everyone.
While the posts have now been deleted, the posts certainly caught Bobby’s attention as well. He then took to his own social media to leave some messages for his friends and family and explained that he is not as strong as them. The cryptic message worried people close to him and they sent a welfare check on Bobby’s house. He was then discovered dead in his house.
What Was The Cause Of The Death Of Bobby Morris?
Bobby died from a gunshot wound. The gunshot was heard by people near Morris at the time. And soon after he made some cryptic posts, police were sent to Bobby’s house to check on him.
However, the coach was already deceased by the time the police got there. Several students came forward on social media sharing their stories about the sexual misconduct they faced at the hands of, Morris.
The allegations spread like wildfire and it did not take long to infiltrate Bobby’s own mind. This resulted in Bobby taking his own life as he explained that he was not as strong as his family and friends.
How Old Was Bobby Morris?
Bobby’s age has not yet been revealed to the public yet. But judging from his pictures, he should be somewhere in his thirties to his forties.
Last season, Morris guided the City View boys basketball team to the Class 3A state tournament. City View made its first-ever state appearance that day. The state semifinals were their last game.
Morris began serving as an assistant boys basketball coach at City View in 2011. After being elevated to head coach in 2016, he amassed the most victories for the program overall by winning two district championships. In 2021, City View won its first playoff game since 2005 under his leadership. He led City View to the playoffs each of his first six seasons in charge.
