Anthony Michael Hall Wiki Biography

Born in Boston, Massachusetts USA on the 14th of April 1968, of Irish and Italian descent, Michael Anthony Hall is a successful actor, producer and director, who transposed his christian names to avoid confusion with a like-named actor. Renowned for his several teen-oriented films, back in 1984 director/producer John Hughes recognized Anthony’s work in the role of ‘Rusty Griswold’ from the work ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’, and thereafter Hughes cast him in his directorial debut ‘Sixteen Candles’, in which Anthony played the role of ‘Farmer Ted’. With the support and recognition from such great mentors from the industry there was little that could stop him from reaching the heights.

So just how rich is Anthony Michael Hall? Sources estimate that Michael’s net worth is calculated to be $10 million, accumulated during a career spanning almost 40 years in the entertainment industry.

Anthony Michael Hall Net Worth $10 Million

The only child of jazz singer Mercedes, Anthony’s mother being a single parent worked as a featured singer. Eventually Hall and his mother shifted to California and then to New York City where he spent his growing years. He studied at St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s school and then in Manhattan’s Profession Children’s school. Despite the fact that Hall never attended college he claims to be an avid reader still in the process of educating himself!

Anthony kick started his career at the age of seven by acting in TV commercials. He debuted on stage as the young Steve Allen in his life story ‘The Wake’ in 1977. Sailing with the flow, Anthony took up many roles and appeared in ‘St. Joan of the Microphone’, then made his debut on screen in the TV movie ‘The Gold Bug’ in 1980. Anthony came into the real spotlight after the release of the film ‘Six Pack’! Then, still being a 13 year-old Anthony gave such a performance in ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’ that the film was a box office hit which earned then huge revenue at the US box office of $61 million!

Later in 1985 Anthony appeared in two of Hughes films, he played ‘Brian Johnson’ form the film ‘The Breakfast Club’ and as ‘Gary Wallace’ in ‘Weird Science’. He was trouped as a member of ‘Saturday Night Life’ at the age of 17 and has thus been declared the youngest member to date to be cast in SNL. He was also an eminent part of big hits like ‘Six Degrees Of Separation’ and ‘Edward Scissorhands’ while being a standard member on the ‘Dead Zone’. All these accomplishments of Anthony played a big part in increasing his net worth!

Overall, Anthony Michael Hall has been involved in at least one capacity in almost 50 movies, and over 20 TV productions.

Further, carrying forward his family tradition of singing, Hall was a song writer as well a lead singer in his band ‘Hall of Mirrors’ which he created in 1998. The band soon released an album named ‘Welcome to the Hall of Mirrors’ in an association with Gilby Clarke, a former guitarist from the band ‘Guns N’ Roses’.

One may wonder why Anthony’s net worth isn’t somewhat higher, considering his successful career. One reason may be previous problems with alcohol, which caused a hiatus of several years for Anthony. However, these are apparently past problems, and although never married he is currently assumed to be dating Fiona Forbes, a Canadian TV personality.

Quote
1 [2003] I don’t really do the Hollywood party thing. Some people party every night, but years ago I figured out that people who are getting ahead are getting it done before 6 p.m.
2 I grew up in the public eye. I can’t hide from that. I always embrace the work I’ve done before. I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for those movies. I’m always baffled by actors who are like, ‘I’m not going to talk about the ’80s.’ What? You’re just forgetting that whole experience? I feel very fortunate to have been able to do those films. It gave me the tools I needed to be where I am.
3 I don’t want to go away as an actor.
4 [on Tom Green’s directorial style with Freddy Got Fingered (2001)] Off-camera, he’s very quiet. He’d often be walking around quietly, twirling his hair while thinking about his next shot. I think the guy’s a genius. I think the guy’s a social hypnotist. I think he’s incredible. He’s on to something big-time and it’s not just stand-up comedy. If this doesn’t make $100 million, something’s wrong. I smell a sequel.
5 Everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed.
6 [on why he chose the character Johnny Smith, in The Dead Zone (2002)) Playing a character that develops from within was very attractive to me. In playing this part, it is challenging to find the mind, body, and spirit for the role of John Smith. I do watch Star Trek (1966) episodes a lot more closely now!
7 [on working in all three mediums] Movies and TV are both incredibly gratifying. I treat the work the same. Music, specifically songwriting and music production, are very gratifying as well.
8 [on why he never went to college] I’ve been a working actor since age eight. It became my craft and career by high school. I did not go to college, but I’m an avid reader in the ongoing process of educating myself.
9 [on what he would do if he had to spend a million dollars on someone other than himself] Donate a portion to reputable children’s and animal charities, donate a portion to churches and homeless organizations.
Fact

11 Was cast in The Dead Zone (2002) after executive producer Michael Piller saw his performance in Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999).

15 Was one of the nine original members of the 1980s “brat pack,” along with Judd Nelson, Mare Winningham, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Rob Lowe, Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, and Ally Sheedy.
16 Stanley Kubrick claimed that the collaboration between Hall and director John Hughes was “the most promising since James Stewart and Frank Capra.”
17 Has appeared with actor and friend Robert Downey Jr. in Weird Science (1985), Johnny Be Good (1988), and Hail Caesar (1994) (which he directed himself).
18 For his role as Whitey Ford in 61* (2001), rather than learning to pitch left-handed, he wore his Yankee uniform number and logo backward, and pitched right-handed. The image was then flipped.
19 In Freddy Got Fingered (2001), Anthony had trouble driving the sports car his character had. Director Tom Green commented in the DVD of the film that it took several dozen takes to get the two-second shot.
20 His favorite character he ever played was Bill Gates in Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999). He thought it was fun playing the richest man in the world.

29 Turned down roles in Pretty in Pink (1986) and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986) so he would not be typecast.
30 Youngest member of Saturday Night Live (1975) ever, in 1985 when he was 17. Was only on SNL for one season because he had to go to rehab.

Quincy Jones’s net worth, biography, fact, career, awards and life story

Quincy Jones Net Worth: Quincy Jones is an American musical conductor, record producer, trumpeter, musical arranger, and television producer who has a net worth of $500 million. Quincy Jones has been an integral part of the music industry over the course of a career that has spanned more than six decades. Although Jones is an accomplished musician in his own right, some of his most notable work was in songwriting and producing. Quincy Jones has worked with some of the most impressive musicians of our time, and he has won countless awards for his tireless work in the music industry. His production work with Michael Jackson alone resulted in more than 130 million records sold. Every time a Quincy Jones-produced Michael Jackson album or song is sold or played commercially, Quincy earns a royalty. Early Life: Quincy Delight Jones Jr. was born on March 14th of 1933. His family participated in the “Great Migration,” and they relocated to Chicago when Quincy and his brother were still young. Quincy’s early experiences with music were through religious songs. He also had the chance to play piano since his next-door neighbor owned one and let him practice. While Quincy was still quite young, his mother suffered a schizophrenic breakdown and was admitted to a mental hospital. His father divorced her and married again, and his new wife already had three children of her own. Later, Quincy’s father and his stepmother would have three more children. When World War 2 broke out, the family moved to Washington where his father got job at a naval shipyard. After the war ended, the family relocated to Seattle where Quincy Jones attended high school. During his time in high school, he obtained a musical education, learned how to compose, and became a talented trumpet player. He soon made connections with other major jazz musicians in Seattle and introduced himself to Ray Charles as a 14-year-old. In 1951, Quincy Jones enrolled in Seattle University with a scholarship. One of his classmates was a young Clint Eastwood. Jones spent just one semester there before transferring to Berklee College of Music in Boston. Although he continued to study while playing jazz at night at local bars, it eventually became clear to Jones that he needed to begin his professional music career. Career: Quincy Jones moved to New York after leaving college. His talents as an arranger were soon recognized, although he was still booking gigs as a trumpet player. One of his earliest jobs was playing in a band that supported Elvis Presley’s first televised appearances in 1956. After touring around the world, he started living in Paris. Eventually, he started acting as music director for Barclay, a French record company. In 1961, Quincy Jones became vice-president of Mercury, the parent company of Barclay and a major record label in the United States. He also started composing music for motion pictures during this time, starting with The Pawnbroker. His talents for composing movie scores soon became well known, and he enjoyed a career as an extremely sought-after composer for Hollywood producers. Films such as The Italian Job, The Getaway, The Deadly Affair, and many others all feature scores composed by Quincy Jones. He also displayed a knack for writing theme songs for various TV shows such as The Bill Cosby Show, Roots, Mad TV, and many others. During the 60s, Quincy Jones also worked with a number of musicians, acting as a composer for names such as Peggy Lee, Shirley Horn, and Frank Sinatra. Quincy Jones also worked closely with Frank Sinatra in the 70s after forming his own production company, Qwest Productions. In 1981, Quincy Jones released his own album called The Dude. Although the album bore Quincy Jones’ name, it featured a wide range of artists performing songs that Jones had written or produced. The Dude ended up winning three Grammy Awards. One of Quincy Jones’ most well-known projects was Michael Jackson’s 1982 album, Thriller. Jones had previously worked with Michael Jackson for the album Off the Wall, which he produced in 1979. Off the Wall sold 20 million copies, making Quincy Jones the most successful record producer at that time. However, Thriller would prove to be even more successful, going on to sell more than 60 million copies. Jones and Jackson built on this success once again with Jackson’s 1987 album, Bad. This time, the album sold 45 million copies. Further Ventures: Eventually, Quincy Jones also became a film producer, starting with the film The Color Purple. In 1990, his production company merged with Time Warner to create a new production company. This production company would later go on to produce shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Jenny Jones Show, and Madtv. In 2001, Quincy Jones released an autobiography entitled Q: The Autobiography of Quincy Jones. In 2007, he also started his own podcast. He also appeared in a number of guest appearances on television series like The Boondocks, Saturday Night Live. Additionally, he has had cameo roles in films like Fantasia 2000 and Austin Powers in Goldmember. Personal Life: From 1957 to 1966, Quincy Jones was married to Jeri Caldwell. They had one child together during their 11-year relationship. After dating Carol Reynolds, he had another child. From 1967 to 1974, Quincy Jones was married to Ulla Andersson, a Swedish actress. They had two children together before divorcing. Quincy Jones then married Peggy Lipton, and they had two daughters together before divorcing in 1990. Jones’ next wife was a German actress named Nastassja Kinski, and he had another child with her before divorcing her in 1995. In 1974, Quincy Jones suffered a serious brain aneurysm. This caused him to decrease his workload and focus more on his family. He also started using heroin at age 15, although he quit relatively quickly after falling down a flight of stairs while inebriated. After getting into a car accident at age 14, Quincy Jones has vowed never to learn how to drive. Real Estate: In December 1986, Quincy paid $3 million for a home in Bel Air. That’s the same as around $7 million today. He sold this property in 2005 for $5.4 million after completing construction on a 25,000 square-foot compound, also in Bel Air. This house today is easily worth north of $25 – $30 million.

Joseph Kennedy’s net worth, biography, fact, career, awards and life story

Joseph Kennedy net worth: Joseph Kennedy was an American businessman, politician, and investor who had a net worth of $400 million at the time of his death in 1969. That’s the same as roughly $2.6 billion today after adjusting for inflation. In 1957, Fortune Magazine estimated Kennedy’s net worth at $200 – $400 million which made him one of the 15 richest people in the country. After graduating from Harvard in 1912, Kennedy went to work for the Columbia Trust Bank. When the bank was facing a financial crisis, Joseph borrowed $45,000 from friends and family (roughly $1.1 million today) to buy a controlling interest in the bank. He quickly proved himself to be a talented entrepreneur. Kennedy became a millionaire for the first time thanks to the 1920s bull market. He then took many short positions in 1929 right before the market crashed. He would later claim that he knew it was time to get out of the highly-hyped stock market when he started receiving tips from his shoe-shine boy. During the depression Kennedy bought vast amounts of real estate at extremely low prices. In 1929, his net worth was estimated at $4 million (roughly $60 million today). Within six years his net worth was believed to be around $180 million (roughly $3 billion today). In his later career, Kennedy made huge profits investing in Hollywood film studios. A widely believed legend is that Kennedy made his fortune bootlegging. There is very little evidence that this is actually true. He did have large investments in the legal liquor importing and distribution business after prohibition was lifted. Joseph Kennedy was born in Boston, Massachusetts in September 1888 and passed away in November 1969. He was married to Rose Kennedy and was the father of President John F. Kennedy, Senator and Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, and Senator Ted Kennedy. Joseph Kennedy graduated form Harvard University and was a Democrat. From 1934 to 1935 he served as the 1st Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Kennedy was also the 1st Chairman of the Maritime Commission from 1936 to 1938. From 1938 to 1940 he served as the 44th United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom. Kennedy served as a leader for the Irish Catholic community and worked at a shipyard. His company Somerset Importers after Prohibition ended in 1933. He suffered a stroke in 1961 and developed aphasia and lost his ability to speak. Joseph Kennedy passed away on November 18, 1969 at 81 years old.
