According to the investigation conducted by the police, two separate shootings resulted in the deaths of two people. However, it is believed that the gunman was the same person. Several gunshots were heard coming from the direction of the boroughs of Saint-Laurent and Ahuntsic-Cartierville.

Lemieux’s criminal history was extensive, but the most recent conviction he received was in 2008 for a theft he committed the same year. Before that, he had pleaded guilty to another crime in 2008.
In addition to three years of probation, the judge gave him a sentence that he would be able to carry out in the community.

Andre pled guilty to the lesser charge of simple possession of a controlled substance in 2008 and was consequently given a sentence of ninety days in jail.
