On Tuesday, Alphonso Yoner was convicted in a murder case in Chinatown, and people are curious if he was arrested.
A 71-year-old Chinese man was shot and killed by a young boy named Alphonso Joyner in Chinatown a day before yesterday.
It is also heartbreaking to hear that an elderly gentleman was killed unexpectedly.

According to CBS Chicago, a man has been accused of opening fire and killing Woom Sing Tse in Chinatown this week.

As Chicago Police Supt. David Brown stated, Alphonso Joyner was charged with first-degree murder on Wednesday night. Tse was shot many times and died in broad daylight at 262 W. 23rd Pl., between Princeton and Wentworth avenues, on his way to buy a newspaper at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Based on surveillance footage, Tse is heading down 23rd Place when a car pulls up, and someone starts firing from inside. The car then comes to a halt, the driver exits and seems to fire additional rounds at the victim, already lying on the sidewalk.
Later, Joyner drove the Kennedy Expressway near Jackson Boulevard, where police captured him. In the automobile Joyner was driving, police discovered a revolver with an extended magazine, as well as gunshot residue on his hands.
Joyner immediately exercised his right to remain silent after being caught, but detectives worked with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office to quickly gather evidence and file charges.
Joyner has a history of four arrests, two of which were firearms charges, which ended in a guilty plea.
