Adam Levine grew up in a musical family. According to Adam, his mother was greatly responsible for forming his musical taste – he would listen to “The Beatles”, “Simon & Garfunkel” and “Fleetwood Mac”. He met two of his band mates Jesse Carmichael and Mickey Madden while in private school, and after a few years while still in high school, Adam, together with Jesse Carmichael, James Valentine and Ryan Dusick formed a band called Kara’s Flowers. After two years, in 1997, the band released “The Fourth World” – their first album. It was not successful and after the band lost their producer, they decided to split up as it didn’t seem to be working.

For a brief time, Adam attended “Five Towns College” in New York with his friend Jesse Carmichael. However, they dropped out after just one semester and decided to form another band with Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick. Their new record label Octone Records suggested that James Valentine should also be a part of the band, and Maroon 5 was formed. The group’s first album “Songs About Jane” was a success – it sold more than 10 million copies in two years after its release in 2002 which had a huge influence on Adam’s net worth. In 2005, Maroon 5 won a Grammy Award in the nomination for “Best New Artist”, and a year after that they won another Grammy for “Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals”.

Their second album released in 2007 and entitled “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long” was also a success – Maroon 5 won another Grammy award and had their first world tour. In 2010, Adam’s band released their third album “Hands all Over”, a part of it being the single “Moves Like Jagger” which instantly became an international success and raised the bands popularity as well as Levine’s net worth to new heights. In the following years, the band experienced some decrease in popularity, but Adam becoming one of the judges in the popular TV show “The Voice” (since 2011), raised their fame and Adam’s net worth once more. While he hasn’t had many acting roles, in 2012 Adam played the character of Leo Morrison in the horror series “American Horror Story” which might have also contributed to his net worth.

In his personal life, Adam Levine has been married to the model Behati Prinsloo since 2014. Adam is known as an active supporter of equal rights for LGBT community and same-sex marriage. He has been a part of the “It Gets Better” project on YouTube since 2011.
