The Net Worth of Curran Walters
As of mid-2020, Curran Walters’ net worth is estimated to be over $1 million, earned through a successful career in the acting profession.
He’s gained significant paydays thanks “Titans”, though he’s also worked on various other television shows during his career.
Early Life, Education, and Career Beginnings
Curran grew up alongside a younger sister in Oak Park, and attended Oak Park High School, one of the distinguished high schools in California. During high school, he aspired to a career in the entertainment industry, and after matriculating, he began a career as a model, working for several fashion brands including Lee and Tillys, which is a retail clothing company based in California.
While working as a model, he also gained his first acting opportunities, in commercials, first appearing for the Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
He then appeared in a commercial for the video game “NBA 2K15”, which is the 2015 edition of the popular “NBA 2K” franchise. His work there motivated him to pursue more acting endeavors, and he eventually left his modeling career behind, preferring to find success as an actor. One of his first professional projects was in the television movie “Growing Up and Down”, in which he portrayed the character Chad.
Transition to Acting
More opportunities opened for Walters and he appeared as a guest in “Speechless”, “New Girl” and a two-episode special for ‘Girl Meets World”. In 2016, he gained his first recurring role in the television series “Game of Silence”, portraying a younger version of the character Jackson Brooks.
The show is an American adaptation of the Turkish series “Suskunlar”, which tells the story of children who were sentenced to nine years in prison after they stole a dessert in 1997; the show is based on true events.
During the same year, he made his film debut in “20th Century Women”, alongside Elle Fanning, Annette Bening and Greta Gerwig. Afterwards, he was cast in one of his first big roles, as one of the main characters in “Too Close to Home”, which aired on TLC for two seasons. It follows the story of a woman who becomes involved in an affair with the US President, leading her to become the center of a large political scandal.
She then returns home in hopes of escaping the large-scale issue.
Titans
In 2018, Curran was selected for his biggest role so far, in the web series “Titans” portraying Jason Todd, one of the people who assumed the Robin character before he later became known for his alias, Red Hood. Other stars of the show include Anna Diop, Brenton Thwaites, Teagan Croft, and Ryan Potter. The series was initially set to be filmed for TNT, but it was in development hell for a few years before it was announced that the project was going to be redeveloped with the support of the DC Universe.
Cast members were signed in 2017, leading to filming and the release in the following year.
The show starts after the Titans had broken up, but are on the verge of reuniting. Together, they begin thwarting crimes within San Francisco, with each member having their own unique set of capabilities. More members would join the newly formed Titans, but things start to get complicated when one of their members – Rachel, otherwise known as Raven – becomes the target of her demon father. The show was very successful during its first season leading to a second season, in which the now officially reformed Titans must face a previous nemesis, the assassin Deathstroke.
Recent Projects
Walters’ work in “Titans” elevated his career significantly, and while most of his time is dedicated to the show, he is still able to do other projects. He made a guest appearance in the show “Fam”, a sitcom that aired on CBS, and worked alongside Nina Dobrev and Tone Bell. He also reprised his role as Jason Todd, making a guest appearance in the show “Supergirl” and “Legends of Tomorrow”. He appeared as one of many characters from the wider DC Universe for the Crisis on Infinite Earths special, which marked a crossover of many series.
However, since the special was primarily headed by shows from the CW’s Arrowverse, many characters including him were left uncredited.
Aside from his work on shows, he’s also set to appear in the film “Do Not Reply”, which is still in pre-production, delayed due to the problems around the world with the coronavirus. It was also announced that he had become a main cast member of “Titans” – the show has gained positive reviews, mainly for its darker theme and its pacing, which allowed for better character development.
Personal Life
Curran is single and he hasn’t been focused on any public romances, as he’s still busy with developing his young career. He aspires to have a career as big as Leonardo DiCaprio, hoping to find bigger opportunities later on, though he is on board to be with “Titans” for the long run, and needed to do a lot of research and training for the character.
He was a fan of various superhero characters growing up, though his favorite would be Spider-Man. He also likes every superpower, as there is always an advantage to them. He loves acting, and wants to keep on acting work for the foreseeable future.
