Who are the members of Trivium? Here are facts you need to know

In 1999, after Matt Heafy performed a cover version of Metallica’s Leafless Clover, he was invited by Brad Lewter who was the mastermind behind the band, Trivium, to try out as a guitarist. After that, the two went to Travis Smith’s house where the drummer performed a rendition of another Metallica song, For Whom the Bell Tolls. His talent left the other two with no choice but to accept him into the group and the three became founding members of Trivium.

Since forming the heavy metal Orlando group, he has released almost 10 studio albums, an EP and many other singles. More so, he has sold over a million albums worldwide. That said, the group has seen several other members join and leave the group even as it survived for two decades.

Who are the current members of Trivium

1. Matt Heafy

Besides being a founding member of the band, Heafy is its lead guitarist and vocalist. He is also the lead singer of the technical death metal band Capharnaum. The musician was born in Japan in 1986, Matthew Kiichi Heafy, of a Japanese mother and an American father who served in the US Navy.

As a small child, he began learning tenorsaxophone and later guitar when he was 11, but had already developed an interest in pop-punk before he was introduced to heavy metal. Due to his incredible talent, he became the lead singer of the band when he was only 12 years old. As mentioned before, he was first invited by Brad Lewter, who was the band’s lead vocalist as lead guitarist. Within a month, Lewter left the band and Heafy took over. Since then, he has remained a powerful force in the group.

Heafy is the only one in it.

2. Corey Beaulieu

In 2003, Corey Beaulieu joined Trivium as lead guitarist and howling vocalist. Born in 1983 in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, he was influenced in rock by Guns N’ Roses, although it was Metallica that decided him to become a musician.

He started playing guitar at the age of 14 and was invited to join Trivium after the band’s exit. Ember to Inferno in 2003. With that, he joined the band releasing all subsequent Ascendant albums in 2015.

In 2010 Corey performed backing vocals for Taking Dawn and in 2011 he worked with Rebirth To End on his song. The randomization of weakness as a guest voice.

3. Paolo Gregoletto

Much like Corey Beaulieu, Gregoletto was a part of all of the band’s releases from Ascendancy in 2005. He joined Trivium in 2004 as bassist and clean vocals. The musician and composer was born in 1985, Paolo Francesco Gregoletto.

How the bassist joined the band is rather accidental because it was while the band were recording Ascendancy that they realized they needed a bassist and Gregoletto was called in to serve. At first, he had no interest in joining the band, but since he wanted to experience a tour, he decided to join for the album and the tour, and once that was over, he would be released.

As time would tell, he remained even after the tour as a member of the band for which he also writes songs. Besides Trivium, he has also collaborated with Metal Militia, to which he contributed the release of their 2003 album, Perpetual State of Aggression.

4. Alex Bent

Alex Bent is both the youngest and the youngest new member to join the group. He only joined in 2017 ‘s The Sin and the Sentence album as a drummer.

Bent was born in 1993 and has been playing drums since he was little. Professionally, he started in 2005 and has since played in various bands, including Battlecross, with which he released Rise to Power (2015), Brain Drill ( Boundless Obscenity in 2016), and Lord Dragon (Dominion in 2018).

He joined Trivium replacing Paul Wandtke who left the group in early 2017.

Trivium Members – Tours

When on tour, the band sometimes needs extra tomorrows or, as the case may be, vocals. Among these members is Richie Brown who, from 2000 to 2001, joined the band as bassist and vocalist.

In 2003, George Moore joined as a rhythm guitarist while Mike Poggione served as bassist in 2004. During the band’s 2018 North American tour, with Matt Heafy absent due to the birth of his child, Johannes Eckerström and Howard Jones filled in lead vocals as Jared Dines filled in.
