Stallone was born Michael Sylvester GardenzioStallone on July 6, 1946. He was raised in Manhattan, New York City. His family later moved to Washington DC. Michael received his early education at Notre Dame Academy and attended Lincoln High School for his high school education. Stallone also enrolled in Miami Dada College and eventually earned his BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Miami.
Stallone probably didn’t think about playing at anytime after school. His first film appearance was in a 1970 softcore porn film Kitty and Stud’s Party . The actor made a few bucks off the deal after two days of work, and that motivated him to take on another erotic role in an Off-Broadway play called Score.
His career took a good turn in 1972 when he was offered a role in the film No Place to Hide. This gave him a chance to prove to the world that he could do more than just porn. Stallone then went on to have many small roles in films such as The Gentlemen of Flatbush, Farewell My Love and more. During this time, Stallone lived without much fame and fortune, but it didn’t make him give up his quest for more money and fame.
Thankfully, his performance in the movie Rocky gave him the popularity he craved. The film was released in 1976 and earned him ten Oscar nominations.
