The 21-year-old Keegan Murray made his NBA draft in March 2022. He is currently on his remaining college eligibility and will be with the Iowa Hawkeyes until the end of 2022.
The emerging basketball sensation Keegan has a family that holds a history in the field of basketball.
His twin, Kris, and he do not just share a similar appearance but have been together in every aspect of their life. The twins sure have come a long way from fighting over the ball to guiding each other on the field.
Keegan Murray’s Inspiration: His Parents
Keegan was born on August 19, 2000, and has an identical twin brother Kris. His parents, Kenyon and Michelle, have been the pair’s biggest inspirations in pursuing their athletic endeavors.
Murray’s father, Kenyon, also played college basketball for Iowa. It is no surprise that his sons immediately followed in his footsteps.
The Murray twins are known as the second generation at the Iowa Hawkeyes. Their father, Kenyon’s athletic genes, has passed on to his sons. As their sons in the present, Kenyon also made headlines back in his days. He was Michigan’s Mr. Basketball and a McDonald’s All-American as a star at Battle Creek Central High School.
Although he is a supportive father cheering for his sons from the crowd now, Kenyon was a dynamic playmaker at Iowa from 1992 to 1996.

The Identical Murray Twin, Kris
The Murray Twins, Keegan and Kris, are not just brothers but also have each other’s back on the field. The brothers have spent most of their childhood imitating their father. Surprisingly, the twins went to the same college as their father and played for the same team.
They have shared many memorable moments, including getting basketball baptized around a Little Tikes hoop in their basement.
Keegan has mentioned what an annoyance his brother Kris was while growing up. He often focused on his shots, while his brother preferred dunks and got in his way. However, things have drastically changed since then. Keegan looks up to his brother for words of encouragement.
While Keegan made his way through as a budding star in the freshman year, Kris was often sidelined and would watch the game. However, it proved beneficial for the twins as Kris would guide his brother on the field through his observation.
He has stated that his brother Kris is a big key to his success in his freshman year.
