Emma Tustin and Thomas Hughes are yet to be sentenced.
As the couple has been convicted of the crimes, they will have to repent for it too. They didn’t just inflict and injuries upon Arthur but also deprived him of food. In fact, 130 injuries were found in his body.
Arthur was struggling to survive with his abusive father and stepmother, as they fed him salt-laced meals. More than six spoons worth of salt was found in his body. While Tustin’s children were loved and showered with affection, Arthur was deprived of food. Likewise, he was slapped, punched, and kicked.
The six-year-old was weak due to the abuse he went through. His legs couldn’t even handle the weight of his body properly.
Arthur Labinjo Hughes Father & Stepmother Arrested
Arthur Labinjo Hughes’ father and stepmother, Thomas Hughes and Emma Tustin, were arrested a few months ago for the murder of Arthur. They were only suspects at that time as no hearing and trial had taken place. However, the couple has now been convicted of the respective crimes they have committed.
Tustin shook Arthur violently and repeatedly banged his head. The medics tried to save his life but were unsuccessful.
On the other hand, Tustin called the police and told them that he fell down and banged his head.

Arthur Labinjo Hughes sustained an “unsurvivable brain injury.” The crime Emma and Thomas committed has also been dubbed as a ‘campaign’ of systematic abuse.
Furthermore, they were convicted for the crimes after a two-month trial. Their sentence period, however, is yet to be decided.
