Who are Devonta Smith Parents?
Devonta Smith was born on 14th November 1998 to his parents in Lousiana. He is currently at the age of 22 years.
He was raised with his family in the small town of Amite City. About 25% of the city’s population lives below the poverty line. And it seems almost impossible to see a small town make such a leap in his career.
Devonta completed his high school at Amite High Magnet School. Devonta was not allowed to play football as a high schooler.
He had to reach home by the clock. Hence he never tried to go against his family because he understood their sentiments.
The Amite-native also has a brother with whom he used to spend time playing video games.
The football career of the Alabama champion started after he enrolled at the University of Alabama. He played college football to get this far.
As a freshman in 2017, Smith only had as little as three touchdowns with 160 yards. He brought the game-winning touchdown for the team in the 2018 College Football Playoff over time.
In his Sophomore year, Devonta’s touchdown increased to 6, and he made 42 receptions for 693 yards. His career kicked off after his Junior year.
In 2020, Smith became the first wide receiver to ever be awarded the Heisman Trophy since Desmond Howard in 1991.
Smith made his NFL debut in the season of 2021 at Alabama Football ground. After his record-setting match, he was also invited to the 2021 Senior Bowl.
More about Devonta Smith Father Kelvin Dickerson
Devonta Smith always used to get excited as a child when his father, Kelvin Dickerson came home.
The Heisman-winner used to man up and go “Dora the Explorer” with his dad in the forest.
The father-son duo would together roll up in dirt to feel more alive. They would catch fish and crawfish to bring back home or have them on the campfire.
Devonta loves his city Louisiana because of all the fun memories he has had there since childhood.
Devonta Smith Mother Christina Smith-Sylve is his biggest fan
Christina Smith-Sylve was pretty strict with Devonta Smith. But it seemed that paid off later in his career.
The American player signed a $20.141 million deal with Philadelphia Eagles. And it seems he bought a new house for his mother with the money.
He referred to his mother as an absolute world on his Instagram post. Christina is a social worker who earned her degree from Southern University and Agricultural & Mechanical College.
