Why Did Brock Turner Get A Light Jail Sentence? His Status Today
Stanford University student Brock Turner was convicted of three counts of felony sexual assault in March 2016.
Although the prosecution recommended six years in prison, he was later sentenced to a paltry six months.
According to CNN, a “California appeals court denied Brock Turner’s appeal in August 2018,” whose lawyer said there was “a lack of adequate evidence to uphold three convictions” for his client.
Attorney Eric Multhaup stated in his arguments that Brock was “completely dressed and engaged in sexual conduct other than intercourse,” which negated the possibility of a clear intent of unlawful acts.
Mr. Multhaup believed that since Turner was dressed, the charges of unlawful assault were not a possibility, and soon after that, the appeal was rejected.
The Daily Mail stated in June 2019 that Turner was making $12 per hour at Tark Inc., a company that produces cooling technologies for medical appliances, in an entry-level position.
Turner is still residing in Ohio in 2022, where women are utilizing social media to alert one another to his whereabouts.
“Do not let him leave with an intoxicated woman,” one Facebook post read, “Brock Turner does not belong in public.”
