NHL: Who Are Anthony Cirelli’s Parents?

Anthony Cirelli’s parents, Maria and Rocco Cirelli, and his grandparents wanted him to learn some culinary skills. The family even handed him a book, ‘The Taste of Home Cookbook’ when he moved from Ontario to Florida.

In an interview with NHLpa, he stated that his favorite dish growing up was his folks’ veal parmigiana. “I also enjoy the tomato sauce they prepare. It’s fantastic.”

“I can never cook it as well as they do, so when I go home, I enjoy a great pasta supper,” he says.

Trying his hand at cooking has garnered both favorable and negative feedback for the 72nd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Cirelli, who began his culinary journey during the 2020 hockey season, began by saying, “I wouldn’t say I’m a master chef.” “I’d say I’m in phase one, at the very least.

“I’m still gaining knowledge. Some dinners turn out well, while others do not. I enjoyed how wonderfully the salmon and chicken parmigiana came out. The chicken teriyaki and pig hog are more difficult to prepare and did not come out well.”

Cirelli is learning the ropes of how to produce his own culinary creations with the guidance of his family.

“I think learning is important and will benefit me in the future.” Instead of ordering takeout, I can use what I’m learning to make something, says the player.
