Whitney was originally born and raised in Bel Air, Maryland but moving farther South was always her dream. She couldn’t be happier to be in Knoxville, Tennessee where it’s okay to wear cowgirl boots, listen to country music and freely use “y’all”. Whitney while in High School, she attended The John Carroll School from the year 1998 – 2002.
Afterwards during that time she worked with WDTV in west Virginia, she attended West Virginia Wesleyan College where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree, Communication and Media Studies from the year 2002 – 2006.
Whitney Kent Career
She spent eight years in wild and wonderful West Virginia working for WDTV in Clarksburg as a weather anchor and reporter. Presently, Whitney works at WVLT Volunteer TV. She has worked there for 9 years 4 months now. She is the Executive Producer/ Host July since july 2015 – Present now 4 years at Knoxville, Tennessee Area.
She is the Executive Producer/ Host for Everyday Solutions; a daily show that highlights important information, tips and advice for mothers and families. She has worked as a Reporter from March 2010 – July 2015 for 5 years 5 months in Knoxville, Tennessee Area. She says, “I love covering feature and human interest stories throughout East Tennessee.
Occasionally I cover for the weather department and delight the viewers with my “whit” and basic knowledge in the wonderful world of weather!” She has been the Image for Weather Reporter as a Weather Reporter at WDTV from April 2006 – March 2010 for 4 years at Clarksburg, WV.
