The movie is based on English journalist Preston’s script that follows the life of the disgraced British politician John who fakes his demise. He disappeared from the luxury hotel beach in Miami, Florida, after he drowned in the sea in 1974.
However, he was found alive and turned up in Australia. Matthew Macfadyen plays his role, whereas his wife plays the role of his wifey Barbara in the series.

The ITV series Stonehouse was filmed at Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon. The show used Leamington road as its filming location.
The film had some exterior scenes scheduled on February 2, 2022. Afterward, in March, the movie used the location in southwest Birmingham, England. They shot some parts in a medieval market town.
On December 30, 2022, the director shared the behind-the-scenes on his new drama with Macfadyen.

According to Birmingham live, the film crew was spotted in March 2022 in the city shooting the ITV drama about a Midlands MP at the pub in town and Harborne.

Leamington Road
A series of events were shot in Leamington Spa on Clarendon Square. The shot for the upcoming drama took place in the spa town from February 2 to 8.

The show will premiere on January 2, 2023, in the United Kingdom with snowed-in productions and UK Indie films.
It airs tonight at 9 pm on ITV in the UK with three one-hour episodes on 2, 3, and 4 January. Also, the episode will be available on ITVX immediately. The movie will be available on January 17 on Britbox.
Previously, the director confirmed the show was complete on his Twitter post. On April 8, 2022, John tweeted he finished directing a show with Macfadyen in the lead and Hawes, his real wife, who played his long-suffering pretend wife. He added, ‘both of them are brilliant and the nice couple for the movie.’
Recently, he made a post recap of many images in Stonehouse. The director hopes the viewers had as much fun watching as they did making the darkly comedic true story of a politician.
In episode 3, the show highlights the central character’s marriage relationship after Sheila, and how he faced the trial for their action. As a result, his wife does not trust him. However, she seemed desperate to stick to her family life. At last, the politician’s spouse finally divorced him.
