The Goblin Tinkerer is an NPC that sells several unique items, as well as providing the Reforge function. He can be acquired after a Goblin Army has been defeated, spawning randomly in open areas in the Cavern layer.
Does the Goblin Tinkerer show on the map?
You need to be on hard mode. Defeat the goblin army and then you can randomly find him underground in the places you’ve already explored. But you can’t see his icon on the map until you see him on your screen while exploring.

How do you unlock tinkerer?
Unlocking the Goblin Tinkerer in Terraria
- It has to be daytime.
- You must have destroyed a Shadow Orb or Crimson Heart.
- You (or another player) must have 200 health or more.
- Another Goblin Invasion cannot be in progress.
How do you get a tinkerer workshop?
The Tinkerer’s Workshop is purchased from the Goblin Tinkerer for 10. When combining items, the Tinkerer’s Workshop will assign a new random modifier to the crafted item.
Why can’t I use the Goblin battle standard?
You must have smashed at least one Shadow Orb or Crimson Heart. At least one player must have 200 HP or more. If the player has not met both of these requirements, they will be unable to use a Goblin Battle Standard to manually summon the event.
