Tamisha Harper is in jail now, atoning for murdering her neighbor mama Edna.
Tamisha Harper is a convicted murderer whose story got featured in ‘New York Homicide’ on Saturday. It was a case that talked about the murder of Mama Edna, a spiritual woman residing in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.
‘New York Homicide’ is a brand new show that got its first season aired on 1st January 2022. It has been added to the list of another crime series in the American entertainment arena. The show promises to give insights into the most interesting crime stories based on New York.
Where Is Tamisha Harper Now?
Tamisha Harper is in prison now serving her 17 years of charges for killing Edna Pierre-Jacques aka Mama Edna. She confessed about the incident after the police got some hints against her.
Following the confession, Harper was straight away charged for her crime. There was not any kind of trial or hearing involved and the case was shut.
Neither her boyfriend nor her friend, who was at the crime scene was charged.
Mama Edna’s granddaughter talked about how close Tamisha was to her grandmother. Police were shocked to find out the bizarre behavior change in the now-convicted. She was always scared and lost.
When police investigated her, she explained that she had doubts regarding her boyfriend’s loyalty. Hence, she decided to go for spiritual help from Mama Edna. To her shock, the voodoo turned to her angrily saying that Harper had intentions to kill her.
Tamisha confessed that she killed her in self-defense but was charged anyway. There is no further information on why there was no trial.
Mama Edna Murder and Strangled To Death- What Happened?
Mama Edna was found dead by her granddaughter Brianna Jean Baptiste on February 27, 2016. She was there to visit her grandmom and give her a gift. Immediately informing her mother, Jean called 911 and the investigation began.
The case did take a toll on the police, as there wasn’t any sort of evidence found. She was filled with blood lying beside the pool. After further observation, it was seen that she had a cut around her neck as if she was strangled and a head injury. There was even a hammer found near her.
The suspect was her husband but was later found not guilty.
Mama Edna Husband And Family
Mama Edna’s husband was Frederick. Their relationship was not going well as they lived in the same house but separately. Apparently, he did not like her involvement in the spiritual voodoo practice.
The police also kept him as the suspect but was later given a clean chit.
Edna lived with her husband and did not have anybody in her family. He children visited her frequently but she had her own life away from them.
