According to the Tennessee Department of Corrections, Sherra Wright-Robinson is now housed at the Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center.

According to the site, she will be eligible for release on December 18, 2022, yet reports indicate that she will not be released until years later.

Before her court appearance, Wright-Robinson accepted a plea offer. She was sentenced to 30 years in jail and would be eligible for parole after serving 30 percent of her sentence.

Because she had already served 20 months in prison before the sentencing, she would be eligible for release in about nine years. According to CNN, she was given credit for the time she spent in the military.

Sherra Wright 911 Call

On July 19, 2010, just after midnight, a gunshot-filled 911 call came into a Tennessee police department from the cell phone of retired NBA player Lorenzen Wright.

Prosecutor Paul Hagerman told a jury Tuesday that Wright was brought to a road near a field by his ex-wife and another man accused of killing him. The pop-pop-pop of gunfire burst out over the phone as Wright’s call reached the police department in Germantown, a Memphis suburb.

Wright’s death has become one of Memphis’ most well-known murder cases. On July 28, 2010, his decomposing body was discovered in a swampy field in east Memphis, riddled with bullet wounds, nine days after he called 911.

Hagerman pointed out that Germantown police failed to follow up on the foreboding 911 call. According to the prosecutor, if they had, they would have discovered Wright’s body as well as evidence left at the shooting scene, including a handgun, bullet casings, and blood-stained barbed wire fencing.

Sherra Wright Pleaded Guilty To Charges Connected With Murder

Sherra Wright pleaded guilty to charges related to the murder, but she had previously denied any involvement.

She even did video interviews for a show called Who Killed Lorenzen Wright, which can still be seen on YouTube.

When asked if she had anything to do with her husband’s murder on the show, she didn’t say “no,” instead opting for a lengthy response.

When asked if she was involved in the murder, she said, “At first.” “First and foremost, I’m a wife, then a mother, and finally, I’m an author.” Law enforcement should do everything possible to figure out who the killer is.”

Billy Ray Turner has been accused of planning to murder Lorenzen Wright alongside Wright-Robinson. His trial, on the other hand, will not begin until October 2020. Sherra Wright-Robinson, according to CNN, will not testify against him.
