Neville Wran Family Facts Explored
Wran was the eighth and final child of Joseph Wran and his wife Lillian, and was born in the Sydney district of Paddington.
His great-grandfather was Thomas Vallance Wran, an eminent High Victorian architectural sculptor whose carvings may be seen on the Martin Place façade of the General Post Post Office.
Wran began his political career in 1970, when he was elected to the Legislative Council of the New South Wales Parliament.
He was married to Jill Wran and they had four children. Wran had dementia and had been receiving special care at the Lulworth House elderly care home in Elizabeth Bay since July 2012.
He died on April 20, 2014, at the age of 87.
