The student at the University of Texas at Dallas was attacked when she arrived at the residence of Dr. Justin Bishop and his wife, Ashley, to walk their two dogs. The animals, a German shepherd and a pit bull mix named Lucy and Bender jumped on her when she opened the door and held her down.
She required repeated resuscitations, was placed in a medically induced coma for a week, and lost about 30% of her blood during the life-threatening incident, as per NY Post.
The dogs completely tore off her clothes, including her blue trousers. In addition, both of her ears, her nose, her lips, and the majority of the area beneath her eyes were torn off and eaten by the dogs.
According to CBS News, the 22-year-old probably only escaped the terror because the Bishops’ house’s security system went off when the front door was left open during the attack.
Later, the couple informed the investigators that they had no issues with the dogs and had adopted them from rescue organizations.

She had hundreds of bites all over her body, and her face had the most serious injuries. She had lost all her jaw muscles, her ability to chew food, her ears, her nose, her top lip, and her cheeks while being attacked.
A family friend of the Durand, Julia Cole, reached out to the family and was heartbroken to see what Jacqueline was going through. Thus, she set up a gofundme to help cover her medical expenses and surgeries.
She is still recovering from the injuries, but she is now home. She makes videos on Tiktok these days, and although the dogs were responsible for her condition, she said that she would stop working with the breeds that attacked her but would not stop what she dreamt of doing, i.e., pet sitting.
What Happened To Dr. Justin Bishop Dog?
Dr. Justin Bishop’s dogs were captured and taken to the City of Coppell to be taken care of. The judge also ordered that both dogs should be fed meat.
The lawsuit against the couple said it was due to their negligence. The front door in their house shows an “ominous sign” that reads, “Crazy Dogs. Please don’t ring the bell or knock. Instead, text or call”.
The notice suggests that the Bishops knew that both dogs had behaved aggressively toward visitors arriving at the front entrance, claimed Durand’s attorney Chip Brooker.
