Jordan returned to Brooksville, Florida, when her mother died, where she had spent most of her childhood. Her mother came from a well-known family who had resided in the area for decades.

Larry McNabney Murder Mystery
Larry McNabney, a well-known California lawyer and horse lover, was married to a teenage woman named Elisa and living happily in Sacramento, California – or so he believed.
On September 12, 2001, McNabney was killed by a deadly dose of horse tranquilizer. Elisa McNabney was using one of her numerous names, was Laren Sims, a woman from Florida with a tumultuous past.
Sims and her friend Sarah Dutra, a secretary at McNabney’s legal business, were responsible for McNabney’s death.
On February 5, 2002, McNabney’s body was discovered buried in a vineyard. Sims had already emptied the couple’s assets and escaped with her daughter at that point.
Sims changed her name again, and a national search lasted for weeks until her daughter called the police, concerned that her mother was suicidal. Officers discovered Sims on a beach in Destin, Florida, on March 20, 2002, when she surrendered herself.
