Netflix’s upcoming series Don’t Pick Up the Phone will shed light on the phone call scam which affected parts of the United States in the 90s and early 2000s.
The scam affected fast-food restaurants and grocery stores where an unknown caller would phone a restaurant pretending to be a police officer. The caller would then pursue the manager of the said installment to search their female employees or perform some bizarre actions.
Louise Ogborn is one of the victims of the phone scam who worked at a local McDonald’s. On April 9, 2004, a call was made to her workplace where the caller mentioned a theft suspect as a young woman with blonde hair. As the description matched Louise, her then-manager Donna Summers did an unauthorized physical search of the 18-year-old.
Later, Louise sued McDonald’s for $200 million and received compensation of $6.1 million. She was granted $1.1 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages.

Exploring her Facebook, it’s pretty evident that Ogborn, who now goes by Louise Bolin, has moved on from her past and is happily raising two daughters with her husband. Her daughters are named Sophia and Madelyn.
While Sophia is the athlete in the family, Madelyn is the brain. Sophia is a skilled runner who has shown potential to become a full-time athlete someday. Likewise, Madelyn has ambitions to become a lawyer in the future.

Ogborn is now a full-time mom and taking care of her family. She has dedicated a lot of time and energy to raising her two daughters. Having a loving and supportive husband like Jason has been an added bonus as he has been an ideal father to their two kids.
Louise Ogborn Story Is The Subject Of New Netflix Series Don’t Pick up the Phone
Louise Ogborn’s story is set to be featured in the upcoming Netflix documentary series, Don’t Pick up the Phone.
The show will focus its storyline on the scam and its victims. The scam started in the 90s where a random caller would call fast food restaurants posing as a police officer.
The caller would then convince the managers of the businesses to strip-search their employees, mostly female, after providing a bogus description of a suspect.
Many fell for this scam, including Louise’s manager Donna Summers. When the scammer called the Mount Washington-based McDonald’s franchise on April 9, 2004, Donna was the shift manager. Based on the description provided by the caller, Donna identified Louise as the suspect.
Ogborn was then detained for over three and a half hours during which she was physically and mentally assaulted.
Police later arrested a man named David Richard Stewart as the suspect. However, he was found not guilty in the phone scam case and acquitted of all charges despite physical evidence suggesting otherwise.
