Where Is Eric Wick Now? Renee King Murder Convict – Coin Robbery Gone Wrong
Erick Wick is currently in jail, serving his 36-year imprisonment sentence.
On 14 March 1989, a coun robbery went wrong at a rare coin store in Newport Beach, California, resulting in the death of two people and one injured.
Newport Beach Police Department’s Retired Detective Sergeant Richard Long stated that the officers and paramedics saw a man shot in the head walk out of the shop. They found a woman behind a counter and a man on the floor – both dead.
The wounded man was 36-year-old entrepreneur Bill King. His wife, 38-year-old Reene, and 45-year-old Clyde Oatts were the victims.
When the officials asked King about the shooter, he said Tom shot him. As per the witnesses, two assailants had fled the crime scene.

The investigators found that the robbers took $45 thousand in rare coins. A sales receipt under Eric Watts was prime evidence in the case. The address in the invoice was nearby Tustin Marine Corps Air Station. The INvestigation came to a dead end after the officials didn’t find anyone with the name.
However, a military man led to the eventual capture of the culprit, marine Eric Wick, as he revealed that the offender had been at the shop and knew about the shooting incident. Further, the on-file palm print of the suspect was a perfect match to that of the crime scene.
After regaining consciousness from a medically induced coma, King confirmed the perpetrator’s identity. He said that the same man had paid a visit to the store to buy 33 gold Canadian Maple Leafs worth $45 thousand, six days before the incident. Then on 14 March, the same guy returned and shot him four times.
After that, Newport Beach police apprehended the son of an FBI agent from his home in Reno, Nevada. A search of the offender’s car led to the discovery of stolen gold coins and a .9mm pistol.
In Orange County, Wick confessed that he was the lone shooter. The court convicted him of two counts of homicide, attempted homicide, felony robbery, and burglary on 14 June 1989.
