Edward Burns is an American actor and filmmaker.
Burns attended Catholic Chaminade High School before transferring to a public high school.
He then proceeded to The State University of New York at Albany & Oneonta College in New York to major in English literature. But during his junior year, he transferred to Hunter College in Manhattan, studied filmmaking & began writing short films.
Following graduating, Burns got his start in the film industry as a production assistant on the Oliver Stone film, The Doors. While working as a gofer at Entertainment Tonight, he financed, produced, directed and starred in his first film The Brothers McMullen(1995).
Burns has since starred in over 30 films, produce 20, directed 17, and written 18 movies and tv shows.
