Where Is Clay Shrout Today?

The accusations against Clay Shrout for keeping the class hostage dropped as part of his plea bargain, and he was given a life sentence in jail in 1995 and is still in jail now.

In his parole application from March 2019, he informed the parole board that his mother had reportedly attacked him sexually when he was a child and that his father was aware of it. He also acknowledged his problems with mental health concerns early on and expressed regret for his acts.

Because the crime was what it was, the use of a weapon and Clay’s drug and alcohol misuse, the board refused Clay’s parole. Before his upcoming parole hearing in May 2029, he must attend mental health and anger management counseling. At the moment, Clay is a prisoner at the Kentucky State Penitentiary.

Given that the judge had deemed Clay Shrout to be mentally ill, he entered a plea of guilty to the killings of his parents and sisters.
