Betty Gore Murder: Candy Montgomery’s Wikipedia

As per her Wikipedia, Montgomery, a Christian suburban housewife in northern Texas, was the prime suspect in her companion Betty Gore’s homicide on June 13, 1980.

Moreover, Betty’s remains were discovered in her Texas house with her husband and children, mangled with 41 ax wounds and the murder weapon.

Fingerprints and footprints recovered at the crime scene led to Candy’s arrest on June 27, 1980, for Betty’s murder. Candy admitted to killing Betty in self-defense at the start of her trial in October 1980.

Similarly, the attacker said Betty intended to assault her with the ax first after finding out about her spouse Alan Gore’s infidelity with Candy.

The murderer further stated that at one time, the victim lost control of the weapon, resulting in a fight between the two women.

Candy said Betty was the aggressor when the purported conflict reached its height, which is why she killed her with the ax. Besides, Candy was found not guilty of all counts made against her because she pleaded self-defense.
