Cameron Vaughan, a 16-year-old Quincy High School student who claims she was raped by 18-year-old Drew Clinton last summer, will appear on WGEM-“Dr. Phil.”
With the shocking decision by an Illinois court to overturn the guilty conviction of 18-year-old Drew Clinton, national outrage erupted after he was found guilty of one count of criminal sexual assault.
According to the judge, the prosecution had unable to prove their case, and Drew had already served enough time in county jail while awaiting sentencing.
Cameron Vaughan alleges she was passed out during a high school graduation party when she awoke to find Drew rapping her with a pillowcase over her face. Drew refuted Cameron’s claims, insisting that their contact was voluntary. In an exclusive conversation, Cameron and her father discuss their relationship.
Drew Clinton Rape Charges
During his visit to Quincy, Illinois, Drew Clinton, who lives hundreds of miles away in Michigan, lived with that other adolescent.
Judge Adrian ruled Clinton not guilty on the first two counts in a bench trial with no jury. The teenager admitted to digitally penetrating the girl but claimed that she had given her consent.
He was first found guilty, but at his sentencing in January, Judge Adrian overturned the conviction to keep the kid from serving the obligatory state minimum of four years in prison.
Cameron, often known as Cammy, continues to claim Drew raped her. She claims he covered her face with a pillow, and she awoke to find him ‘within’ her.
He was charged with three charges of sexual assault, two of which were committed by intercourse and one through digital penetration.
