We’ll examine Brian Johnson, the Philadelphia Eagles’ current quarterbacks coach, in the third edition. Football Scoop claims that Notre Dame has confirmed the prospective offensive mind’s interest.
Where is Brian Johnson coaching now?
Currently, in his second season in the position, Johnson, 35, is the Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach. As the Eagles gear up for the Super Bowl, Jalen Hurts emerged as an MVP contender during the regular season.
Hurts wasn’t a slouch either in Johnson’s rookie season; he was only the eighth NFL player in history to throw for more than 3,000 yards and dash for more than 750 yards in the same campaign.
Johnson grew up in Texas like so many other outstanding college quarterbacks. When Drew Tate graduated and transferred to Iowa, he began playing for Robert E. Lee High School as a senior.
When Johnson graduated from college, he received very few offers from FBS programs. Only Illinois, Louisiana Tech, and Utah first offered him a football scholarship, according to his Rivals recruiting page.
Johnson played in 10 games as a freshman at Utah even though Alex Smith started ahead of him that year. As a sophomore, he took over as the team’s starter before redshirting in 2006.
He missed two games in 2007 due to a shoulder injury, but he still won the Poinsettia Bowl MVP award for helping Utah defeat Navy in the season’s last game. In 2008, Johnson led Utah to a 13-0 record and a Sugar Bowl victory over a 12-1 Alabama, shocking the globe.
