Pittsburgh Maulers Mascot

Pittsburgh Maulers mascot Marty The Mauler was revealed on 14 April 2022 after fan voting. Marty wears a yellow hat, Maulers shirt and carries a hammer.

The blue-eyed mascot is eye-catching with its maroon suspenders in his blue pant. Many thought that it looked similar to Steely McBeam.

The top names suggested for the mascot were: Mauler Mike, Hard Hat Henry, and Marty The Mauler. Among the 8964 votes, Marty won with 34.1%.

Because Steel City has deep connections with the steel industry, almost all Pittsburgh sports franchises use colors, text, or symbols to represent an affiliation with steel.

Mauler means a steelworker with a heavy hammer. So, as a tribute to the successful steel industry of America, the Pittsburgh Maulers approved this mascot.

Pittsburgh Maulers logo was upgraded to black and gold colors for the second season on the 24th of January.

The official social handle of the Maulers tweeted that they had to make a change for season 2 and revealed their new logo through a video.

Avid fans of the Maulers had been suggesting they use the black and yellow or gold color for the longest time.

It is because these are the colors that represent the Pittsburgh city. Also, almost all of the teams representing Pittsburgh have incorporated the black and gold color in their emblem.

Finally, Maulers have also followed the path of other franchises like Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Per their new head coach, Ray Horton black and gold is Pittsburgh-appropriate, suggesting that he approves of their new logo. Previously, the Maulers featured the colors red, and black in their logo.
